I was in a car headed somewhere. I ordered a taxi, and an expensive electric vehicle arrived.
I was surprised to see the kind of car that came to pick me up, even though it’s not the first time I’ve ordered a taxi and had an expensive vehicle, once an SUV, come to pick me up.
After confirming the plate number, I then remembered it’s the weekend, usually the time some people use their personal vehicles for taxi services.
Upon arriving at my destination, I realized I didn’t know how to open the door. I knew it was a button, but among all the buttons, I didn’t know which one. So, I assumed it was the same as in a Xiaomi model I had recently ridden in. Unfortunately for me, although the button sat in the same position as the one in the Xiaomi, it wasn’t the one that opened the door.
The driver quickly showed me which button to press.
On my way back, I began to reflect on that experience.
Then I realized that, like me in that car, many people are making efforts to open various doors in life but are unable to, even though they are educated and have arrived where they should be.
It reminded me how someone can be at the right place at the right time and still be the wrong person because they lack the capacity and ability to unlock the possibilities associated with that moment.
Though educated, because I didn’t know how to open the door, I couldn’t. This is why I always say, whatever you don’t know is bigger than you.
Ensure you know how to get the results you desire in life. If not, you will be frustrated by the doors life presents to you. Time and again, everyone will be presented with a door. Identifying the door is one thing; knowing how to open it is another, all of which depends on knowing how.
Because timing is crucial in life and possibilities are tied to seasons, you can either struggle at the door until time passes, or you can ask how to open it. You may take the long route of figuring it out, but by the time you have the key, the time for that possibility may have already passed because possibilities have expiry dates, given the seasons.
Like some doors that require a combination of codes, there are doors in life that cannot be accessed with a single key. They require a combination. So, someone may have all the keys, but without the right order, they will miss out on the opportunity and be engulfed by frustration.
Unless a person knows, they will work, but it will be as the Bible says: “the labor of fools wearies them, for they do not know the way to the city.”
You either spend time trying to figure things out or pay the price to get it from those who have the keys and the combinations of keys.
